This summer we were lucky enough to have the time to take two weeks and head to Florida to go on vacation and visit family. It had been over a year since I had seen much of my family, so the trip was needed and I couldn't wait!
We drove straight through for the first time with Gray, and it wasn't too bad. But by the time we got to Grandma Great's in Mt. Dora (midnight) Gray was wide awake and excited to see Mam-moo (who had waited up so late for us)! We stayed with Grandma for a few days and visited family and friends. It was so good to visit with Grandma- I hadn't seen her since her stroke, and I was glad to be there to help out with anything I could. She is one tough cookie- a stroke in her early 80's and she is still determined and as stubborn as an ox!
Mike and Kim were kind enough to drive and visit us in Mt. Dora for dinner one evening. As always it was good to visit with them--glad they have room-mates with a toddler--or else we may have scared them off for ever! I know the Cuban restaurant was ready to get rid of us!
On Saturday, I was lucky enough to have most of my family join us at the Central Florida Zoo. It was so good to visit and see everyone. Family from Orange Park, Inverness, Winter Springs, Orlando, and Georgia were there! Gray had such a good time with his family, but of course it wasn't nearly enough time.
