Gray's 2nd Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. On Saturday we headed to Stone Mountain state park for an Easter program on natural egg dyes, and to camp. This was Gray's 2nd camping trip, and he did great. He was pretty worn out from the hiking, and running around come night time. In the morning we woke up and he followed the Easter egg trail to his basket- full of books! He was so excited.

Later we came home, and Gray had a package waiting from Mam-moo. Mam-moo sent a shirt, a 3-D crayola and wipe off coloring/game pad. He loves it, and colored all morning. Thank you Mam-moo!

Rawr!

Like most little boys I guess, Gray has fallen in love with Dinosaurs. He has several Dino books, and they are often at the top of his reading list. So when the science center moved the Dinosaurs to town, I knew we had to go visit. We are grateful that they offer free Fridays, twice a month, and today just happened to be one. So for Good Friday, with all of us off, we decided to head over. We started with breakfast at one of the local restaurants. Were even lucky enough to run into our wonderful neighbors (Gray's grand-neighbors) and have them join us before heading on our way to see the dinosaurs.

They even had toy dinosaurs to play with!

Baseballs, trains, and airplanes

Our local minor league team the Hickory Crawdads had a St. Paddy's day celebration today for families, so we headed out to the stadium to let little man run around.

The first thing he saw when we got out of the car was a little train that was running people around in the parking lot.

They had so much going on, a baseball pinata, a bounce house (I was not brave enough to allow Gray to go into this), a baseball pitch set-up, games on the field, and music. Gray loved it.

We practiced running around the diamond, good training for the pee-wee little league!

After the baseball stadium we headed up the road to the Hickory airport. Who knew they had such a cool aviation museum? For FREE too! Gray is in LOVE with planes, even more after our plane trip to Florida, so we thought he would enjoy this. He loved it! They have several war planes you can go up to, check out the cock pits, and they also have a small indoor museum. He quickly made friends with the veteran military pilots volunteering inside, and we promised to be back.

Last week Gray and I flew down to Florida for a quick trip and a chance to soak up some sunshine. It is never long enough, but we were able to squeeze in time with many of our friends and family.
Gray loved hanging out with pop-pop, playing on Grandma Great's piano, and watching the birds at Bob-ops.

1st trip to the dentist

Today Gray had his first trip to the dentist! Of course this was really just about getting him used to the dentist, and despite a few tears it actually went pretty well. In fact, he has wanted to brush his teeth non-stop since we left!

One of my friends from college started a pediatric dental office in Newton this past November, so I was excited to have Grayson go to him for his first dental visit. Gray didn't exactly like Mr. Ross/Dr. Penland brushing his teeth. But he did make friends afterwards, and gave him a fist bump when we left.

Wow, what a dirty shirt! This was after our walk into town and stop for an ice cream cone. :)

Three day weekend

Happy MLK day! We had a wonderful three day weekend, with no major plans. It was wonderful! We started our Friday off, with friends coming for dinner. We had such a good time with the David's and glad for the company.

On Saturday, Steven and I had a daytime date!!! These are so few and far between, so it was nice to spend some adult time together. Going out to eat is a whole different ballgame now with a toddler. It's nice to not rush and to actually enjoy our time together and our meal. Of course we missed Gray like crazy and couldn't wait to pick him back up! We were able to go see a movie and grab dinner- thanks Aunt CoCo!

Sunday was a lazy day. Gray spent most of it sleeping. He has been teething (working on his canines), and they seem to really be giving him a fit. Most of his teething went unnoticed, but not these. After some laying around, we finally headed over to Maw-Maw's house for dinner.

Before the museum. . .

It has been chilly the past few days, and I have been too wimpy to go outside so we decided to spend out extra day together by heading to the children's museum of Winston-Salem. We had so much fun, and after two and a half hours, little man slept well on the way home. Of course this was short lived, and we came home, had some homemade chocolate cookies, and played marching band, and did some animal yoga.
